Security Systems- an art?
Updated: Sep 4
Want to know how art can be used to ensure your security? You've come to the right place!
For a while now, art has been used to disguise security systems. This helps ensure that a perpetrator does not know what security is present at a place. This makes them more likely to get caught!
One example of this use of art can be seen at a dockyard outside Hanover Place in the United States. A life-size tribute was made to the artist Johannes Vermeer by painting his famous work, The Girl with the Pearl Earring, on a wall in Hanover Place.
However, it was more than just a tribute. It was a security system. An alarm was put in place of the girl's earring. Isn't it clever?
This isn't the only way to include art in our security systems. We can also incorporate cameras and alarms inside craft pieces to help camouflage them. Here's an example:
This garden gnome is actually installed with a security camera. This helps decorate the place as well as secure it!
